Keep Going, Keep Growing

Change is inevitable, but personal growth is a choice" famous words from Bob Proctor, one of the best coaches of the self-development concept. For many years I have been spending my day in this same state of mind. Negative emotions will dominate the whole scenario. I woke up in the morning, did the same routines, felt unmotivated to go to the workplace, met my coworkers, and specially engaged with my rude boss, closed the work, drove back to the house and ate the same processed food which made my tummy even thicker than yesterday. Otherwise, you felt lost, you were doing activities, you are a last semester student of undergraduate, but you think you didn't have any idea for what you were doing at that time. You felt sad, your families, your surrounding, even your Self seem not right. Doing the same activities for almost three years, and you started to become a negative person, irritable pessimistic, and your activities are burdens only for you. You began to ask, "what am I doing here? Why this world seems not fit me? Why can nothing in this world make me feel good? Is this my destiny? Why can people easily be happy, and I'm not? What mistake did I make?    Your mind is full of this nonsense, and the situation can easily carry you until some days. You didn't have control of anything. Have you ever feel like this, or have you hear someone told you these stories? What can we do if we are the victim or even people who are closest to us? One famous quote that can help us in this situation it "It's Totally Okay not to Be Okay." The ability to realize the situation and not drowned by the situation is the qualities of a leader. We could say even this the best way to underlie our life changes.    Some psychologists discuss this concept in various ways; Abraham Maslow believed that humans have growth needs; humans tend to fulfill the five levels of needs depends on their growth capabilities. The need to grow called self-actualization. Carl Roger's theory about self-growth is the theory of Growth potential. He believed that humans have that motivation shifting from real Self to fully functioning self". Carl Rogers said that every person born with that desires to grow. Thus, Self-growth is a long life need or desire of the human, consciously, and continuously changing their Self to become a better version of their Self.

There is a lot of best personal development coaches in the world; they teach us how to unravel and use a comprehensive strategy. Napoleon Hill, Stephen Covey, Abraham Hicks, Jack Canfield, and John Maxwell are the most famous coaches in this area. They will have different approaches and backgrounds, but the goal is only personal growth or self-help. The desire to grow is the fundamental aspect of humans, but the implementation is null. Changing the wishes to applications needs an inclusive approach, which we can call "Self Assessment." Self Assessment is switching from the concept 'just" self-evaluation to self-evaluation with specific goals and strategies. The Self Assessment steps;

    1. Analyzing the Current Self; limitation and qualities of the Self, the traits and the previous experience
    2. Planning for the Ideal Self; create the goals, find the best strategies, find help through books or event self-help organization, identify people you adore or ideal person for you, and design board of life vision.
    3. Working on the Self; with a comprehensive plan and goals, start the work and slowly adapt to the situation. Use performance criteria and performance measures.
    4. Take control and observe; Getting things to routines and actions is quite tricky; at starting, everything seems so effortless after 7 days our mind tries to protect us from sticking in our comfort zone. In this situation, we can act accordingly, use reflective thinking and metacognition so we can understand and contextualize our current actions to our comprehensive strategies. The most important thing we have to be conscious of, even using baby steps, can get into the ideal Self.
    5. Do reflective journal; after 21days, three months and six months try to observe. Are you working on yourself? Note some of the limitations, qualities, and coping skills you use during the critical situation after we concluded trying to re-create the plan and focus on the growing process.
    6. Achieving goals; this process of exploring the potential of non-cognitive factors. The one who can stick to the plan is the winner, not only someone with the highest IQ. This process, we learn through effort and the experiences of ourselves and others. After we achieved this IDEAL SELF we can grow and move the another IDEAL SELF

The goal of these self-assessment process is to create an individual who can lead themselves, create their own challenges, choose their destinies, and be capable of self-monitoring. Keep GOING! Keep GROWING!
