About
Welcome to Psynaesthesia, everyone! This is a humble initiative taken up by the students of psychology of Christ (Deemed to be University) in order to enlighten readers about the field in a bid to assist the community about the need for mental health awareness in today's day and age.
Synaethesia is a term of Greek origin translating to 'together perception'. It is a condition where information that is meant to activate one of our senses stimulates several of them. This allows synesthetes to appreciate more than simply one facet of a sensory experience.
'Psynaesthesia' reflects an integrative and inclusive understanding of mental wellness. We believe that the more willing we are to perceive different dimensions of a problem, the more accepting and empathetic we can be in our approach of reaching out to other people. This is therefore envisioned as a platform that reflects a collectivistic understanding to grow a community that thrives on education and diverse perspectives.
Psychology is a subject for everyone. It is not just for those who want to become psychologists. It is for those who seek balance in their lives. Having an insight into the psychology of recurring daily activities and simple habits really helps one achieve this balance. This is the required grace all of us need to live peacefully. In this blog, we shall use positive psychology, culture, the latest research, and philosophy to make concepts as accessible as possible. This interdisciplinary aspect should keep everyone with different interests curious and engrossed. We will also try to make sure that our content is as understandable as possible.
Before you dive into our posts, we are obligated to post the following disclaimer: As mentioned before, this blog is managed by students of psychology, without the training or license required to render therapy or professional advice. This website is not to be used as a substitute for consultation with a professional psychologist, a counsellor, or any other professional health or medical provider. While we will endeavour to publish content as up to date as possible, inaccuracies and incomplete information may still exist due to the rapid progress of research in the field.
Our goal remains above all else to make the concepts of psychology readily available to the masses and emphasise the significance of mental health, as well as removing the stigma associated with the same. If our posts allow you to learn a little bit more about the field and contribute to any positive growth in your mindset and lifestyle, we will consider our mission accomplished. Happy reading! :)
